About Me..

I’ll try and keep this as brief as possible….
I’m a twenty two year old from Reading who is currently studying Broadcast Journalism at University College Falmouth in Cornwall in the UK. In the long run I hope to become a Sports Broadcast Journalist and I’d love to cover football, baseball or cricket for a living. I’m a loyal Royal, supporting Reading Football Club and also follow the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team in the ‘States. I play five a side both at home in Reading and here in Falmouth, and back home I also play baseball for the Thames Valley Bisons.
I went to school at Theale Green Community School in a village called Theale in Berkshire. Subsequently I graduated from Lancaster University in 2007 with a BA in History, for which I mostly studied 18th-20th century British and American History. Whilst at Lancaster I got involved in our student radio station 87.7 Bailrigg FM and ever since I’ve wanted to work in radio or TV. Whilst at Bailrigg I presented a music show for three years called ‘ Wimb’s Rock Odyssey’ and also got involved in the News and Sports Teams covering many different sports and news events and honestly loving every minute. Right at the end of my time at Lancaster I was also lucky enough to present a music based show from the Download Festival in Donnington for Download Radio. Those five days were what convinced me that I really wanted to be a broadcaster and that I actually had a shot at doing so.
After a year out to spend time back home with my friends and earn some money, I’ve come to study at Falmouth as the next step in trying to get a foot on the broadcasting ladder and so far it’s been amazing.
Otherwise I’m a self confessed geek and Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Pro Evolution Soccer and Football Manager take up far too much of my time. I also love going to see live music and have been to the Reading Festival five times and Download twice alongside many trips to the mighty Astoria in London. I’m spending most of my time right now listening to Paramore, New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, Fightstar, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance and The Who but generally I’ll listen to most things.
Anyway, that’s just a little bit about me and it might explain a little bit about why I’m writing and some of my opinions.
